My sister-in-law and her ex-husband used to travel a lot, and he would always buy her jewelry when they travelled. He always said that it wasn’t so much the jewelry itself that mattered, as the memmories each piece invoked when worn in the future. That’s exactly what you said about the sock yarn, and I feel the same way. That’s the whole reason to buy yarn on vacation, even if it’s a brand you can get at home. I’ll always think of my trip to San Francisco when I wear my scarf made with the Plymouth Baby Alpaca Grande I bought there.
